About the owner and chef

Michele’s experience started at home where her mother taught her to cook, as well as observing in both her grandmothers’ kitchens. Her love for cooking and all to do with food continued when she completed her 2 year National Diploma at the Institute of Culinary Arts (ICA) in Stellenbosch.

During her time as a student at the ICA, she received the Internationally recognized City & Guilds Qualification – London, earning “Highest Possible Marks for Practical Cooking” and completed the certificate courses of South African Wines and Wines of the World at the Cape Wine Academy.
Michele returned later as a Junior Lecturer of Pastry, Baking and Confectionery.

She has trained at the famous Le Quartier Francais Restaurant in Franschhoek working under Margot Jansen. This experience combined with her technical ability resulted in her being invited as Guest Head Chef at Impalila Island Lodge in the Caprivi. Her passion for food and hands-on experience provides Michele with a unique and world-class platform in providing the Cape with the tastes of Bite!

Custom catering is our specialty, so whether you love comfort food, classic French, rustic Italian, all organic vegan fare, or just delicious food of any type – we can prepare your ideal menu..
